And I've been doing it for agencies, consultants and product companies.
During my years as a designer, I have acquired ample experience working with diverse industries such as fintech, retail, entertainment, and even employee experience design. I enjoy working as a design leader, empowering and mentoring other designers. Still, I also perform as an individual contributor, owning the user experience design inside product teams.
These are the companies where I have had the opportunity to work:
In my current role as a Product Design Lead, my work focuses on helping Business clients via our retail platform. We envision, develop, and maintain tools that make it easier for business owners (and their teams) to bank with us and service their own customers.
I am also one of the Leads responsible for maintaining and taking our digital platforms to the next level.
During my time as a Senior Product Designer, I was part of the Conversations team, which was in charge of Search, Help, and our award-winning Chatbot. We help Scotiabank's users find the best way to solve their issues and answer their questions about digital banking.
On top of designing the experiences, I worked closely with our Product Managers, developing the strategy and roadmap for our portfolio.
In addition to launching our Chatbot—which has saved millions of dollars by deflecting unnecessary phone calls to the Contact Centre—I worked on numerous improvements for the help and support tools inside our mobile and web platforms.
As the first Product Designer for Habanero, I was in charge of GO, our award-winning Sharepoint Intranet, leading its Classic and Modern versions alongside the leads from product and development.
I was responsible for the entire design of the experience, from the strategy to the pixel detail. I developed GO's design system and built its design libraries used for designers to create clients' proposals and design new features. We successfully launched the Modern version of GO in 2021 and secured our first subscriptions.
I also led the first stages of an upcoming analytics product designed to support Intranet content creators.
As an Associate Creative Director, I co-led a team of more than 30 designers, supported the hiring process, mentored junior teammates and worked toward implementing healthy design practices. I performed as a Design Thinking Facilitator, piloting discovery sessions for new product initiatives.
I was also Project Lead in charge of some of our biggest clients, including Verizon, Walmart, and our various projects with Paramount Pictures.
Even though Zemoga worked under an agency model, I pioneered the initiative to embrace an iterative product design model, which resulted in a successful fit for our clients with larger initiatives and long-standing relationships.
As a contractor from Zemoga Inc, I spent two years working exclusively with Verizon, supporting different innovation initiatives for the VISP team in the areas of Identity services, Mobile Payments, and Fintech.
I introduced the practice of various user-centric activities across different Scrum teams, including prototyping (with varying levels of fidelity) and guerrilla user research. Furthermore, I defined the best practices for internal communications, including applying storytelling for internal presentations and creating templates for different teams' hand-offs.
As UX Manager in charge of growing the relationship between Verizon and Zemoga, our contract grew from a single designer to a team of five (plus two developers) across different projects.
During my initial years as a UX designer at Zemoga Inc, I was a vital part of the innovation team, kickstarting business opportunities and developing new initiatives.
Thanks to our work, we developed relationships with important clients such as Pottery Barn and SeaWorld. Furthermore, PSFK featured our ideas in several reports, such as The Future of Health and The Future of Work.
During this period, I started performing as a Design Thinking Facilitator and became the leader of this practice inside our team, designing and leading sessions for all types of challenges.
During my time with Junglebox*, I was in charge of the most important accounts, including MTV, Bancolombia and Sura. My work leading the creation of multimedia experiences to promote construction projects resulted in successful relationships with important companies such as Constructora Capital and Londoño Gomez.
* Before 2007, Junglebox was known as Impacto Naranja.
Interactiva was an entrepreneurial endeavour to build a creative shop between three alumni of Instituto de Artes, including myself. Even though the venture lasted less than two years, it granted us invaluable experience in running a business, including developing a business plan, client management and production logistics.
